Bedsit Technicians reflects on the impact and involvement of the mediated environment and with urban living. It focuses on the peculiarly alienating and depersonalised effect associated with this situation: an aesthetic of non-spaces. |
Bedsit Technicians was established by artists Carl Fleischer and David Smith. It is an ongoing multimedia project which continues to utilise the resources and skills of each member and associated participants, with the intention of extending the context of each project through a wide range of applications. |
Site specific, installed, environmental, urban, compulsive, electronic, projection and construction are the chosen methods of practice, as are print media from book projects to fly posters. It is a futile attempt to respond directly and actively, or at least, to establish more than an arbitrary association with the world. |
